Toastly has no user accounts, no tracking, no ads and no analytics. This page says what happens to the audio and text of a speech.

When you first open the app, it creates a random token and keeps it in your iPhone's Keychain. Our server stores only a hash of this token, together with a random account number. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number or a password.
The app records audio only while you record a speech. It sends the audio in short pieces to our server in Germany (Hetzner, Falkenstein). The server passes each piece to Groq, Inc. in the USA, which turns it into text. The audio is not stored on our server; it is discarded once the text is back.
The text is sent to Anthropic, PBC in the USA, which translates it into the languages of your event. The text of each speech and its translations are stored on our server, so guests can read along and you can read the transcript in the app. They stay stored until you choose "Delete all my data" in the app's Settings; then they are deleted.
Anyone with the link or QR code of an event can read the speeches of that event. Share the code only with your guests.
The title, languages and the list of names you enter for an event are stored with the event and deleted with all your data. The names are used to spell them correctly and are part of the text sent to Anthropic.
Guests need no app and no account. The guest page uses no cookies. It remembers the chosen language and text size in the guest's own browser (local storage); this never leaves the phone.
Purchases and payments are handled by Apple. We never see payment details. To credit speaking time, the app sends us Apple's signed record of the purchase (transaction number, product, dates). When you delete all your data, we keep only the transaction number and the minutes already used, without any link to you, so that restoring a purchase cannot credit the same minutes twice.
Our server keeps no access logs. Its technical log records timings, counts and errors, never the text of a speech.
Audio and text are transferred to the USA for recognition and translation. We process them to provide the service you use (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
You can delete all your data at any time with "Delete all my data" in the app's Settings. You also have the right to access, correction, deletion, restriction and objection, and the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. For any request, write to the contact above.
